WTB maple syrup in (relatively) large quantities

I might be a bit late but I want to stock up on maple syrup for the year. I want to buy 8 cans (a gallon) and I was wondering what would be the best place in Montreal. Does anybody know what is the price around Marché Jean-Talon for maple syrup this year?

So I bought it at IGA for 5,99$. Special ends today.

The best deal at JTM is 4 cans for $25 (vs $7 for a single can). At these gas prices you would have to buy more than 8 cans to make it worth your while to drive to far off the island.

But filling up your tank off Island will save you some money as well.

I was expecting larger quantities than just 8 cans!! :-)

last time I checked, cans were about $7 each ( usually with reduction if buying in packs)

AFAIK, price does not vary that much during the year.

I could go for 16 if the price is good :-P

I was hoping to pay less than 6$ a can...

If you're willing to go out of your way a bit, Fruiterie Mercier is selling medium maple syrup for $5 a can. It's on the 138 at the first traffic light after you pass the 30 on your way west.

Otherwise, most places will not give you a discount on a gallon. They sell it for the same price as individual cans.
