How to get up and down University Ave

Just read the newer posts on the Univ. Ave thrread. I am joining the others who have committed to supporting the great food spots during construction. I fact will be going today for lunch and will get takeout for dinner and some bread. This thread is for tips on way/routes/parking for any specific restaurants where it is currently an issue. I'll contribute mine later today.

I live in the area and it's really not bad outside of Snelling / Univ at rush hour. On's Thai Kitchen has their own lot. Ngon has parking right around the corner. Sure, you can't park immediately in front of most places, but a block, block and a half off Uni is fine.

From the Tea Garden by the U to the Menards at Fairview, it isn't that bad (or at least it's better than it was last year, by a lot). I'd just drive on University for that part, at least on the weekends and after rush hour.

I think the trick is to know the cross street. There are often back alley access paths to parking lots or at least off street parking. Last year I was able to get to On's without driving on University at all.

Cheng Heng has their own parking lot. The sign to get there is right at the entrance off University.
