Restaurant recommendations for lunch near the Art Gallery of Hamilton?

We're going to see the Kurelek exhibition at the Art Gallery of Hamilton tomorrow and would like to have lunch somewhere afterwards (I live in Toronto and am very unfamiliar with Hamilton). Does anyone have any recommendations? I know about the Harbour Diner, but any other suggestions would be very much appreciated. We're pretty adventurous about food, but not too keen on Mexican.

  1. Not sure what you might like - light lunch, etc. but Beasleys is always good and not too far away.
The Bean Bar is great, but a little drive out of downtown into the Westdale area and always good food.

    1. Almost forgot - there are a couple of other spots on Locke Street like

We tried Il Fiasco today for lunch. We had smoked salmon and spinach quiche with a side salad (the special), and i had decaff coffee and apple strudel for dessert. The quiche was delicious, with a nice smokey flavour from the salmon, good crust and perfect texture to the custard in the tart. The salad with mixed greens, cucumbers and grape tomatoes was a little underdressed, but very fresh. The strudel was probably the best that I've had. It was not overly sweet, had several layers of tender, crisp phyllo dough, and was topped with a drizzle of caramel sauce and a dollop of whipped cream. The decaff coffee was surprisingly good (dark roast).

Thanks so much for the recommendation!

        2. I'm glad you enjoyed Il Fiasco. How was the exhibition at the Art Gallery?
