Where in Oakland/Berkeley area to get fruit galette now that Cafe Fanny is closed?

Any local cafes serving good fruit galettes? I loved the ones at Cafe Fanny. The beignets were so good too.

Thanks everyone. I think I'm gonna try Market Hall.

It's not a cafe, but the Pasta Shop at Market Hall has very good small fruit galettes at the prepared foods counter.

I think I saw some small galette at Bread Workshop last week. Not in the East Bay, but Greens-to-go makes scrumptious galette.

Not in Oakland/Berkeley but a lot further north Downtown Bakery and Creamery in Healdsburg always has galettes.

Downtown Bakery's at the Ferry Plaza farmers market on Saturdays.

Frog Hollow also makes them. http://www.froghollow.com/collections...

And I have seen the Frog Hollow galettes at the Berkeley Farmer's market.

Thanks. Do you know if they are ever at the Lake Merrit farmer's market?

La Farine might work for you; it has 3 locations - one is on Solano, but I haven't visited that one.

What La Farine calls "galettes" are the same as their tarts minus the pastry cream.

Good to know. I really want a galette, not a tart.

The fruitt tarts at Masse's Pastries come in individual and 8" sizes and are seasonal and divine. They may meet your needs.

Tarts are a lot more common, La Farine and La Bedaine also sell them.

I've seen the kind of rustic galettes Fanny sold mostly in restaurants. Some of Crixa's pies are made in that style.

I don't know about cafes, but Nizza la Bella's apple galette is classic.
