Pressed Duck at Daniel
Does anybody know if they are still offering this? Has anybody had it recently, how much was it and was it worth it? I'll be making reservations to Daniel next week and was curious about your opinions. Thanks.

Called for a reservation this morning and asked about the pressed duck, unfortunately they're not offering it now.

I remember calling up the restaurant over a year ago after reading/seeing about it (I forget where) about being one of the best dishes in NYC. They said they had stopped serving it at that time and couldn't tell me when they'd bring it back.
Alan Richman just brought it up today in his list of the best fine dining restaurants in NYC, which I presumed you've read since you brought it up today. I would LOVE to try that dish as well.

re: deepfry7
Yep, that's the article. You probably read about the dish in another Alan Richman article on the best dishes of the year.

re: PorkyBelly
Yep, that's it. Also, I've read it from a Vegas critic, John Curtas. I'll read him when I'm visiting Vegas. I think it was probably the same event that Richman went to.

Apparently, it was also on the Food Network's TV Show, "Best Thing I Ever Ate", an episode called "Last Supper".
If you find out more information, please let us know! I've been to Daniel once and not really dying to go back (although the room is just gorgeous). But that pressed duck looks ridiculous, although I generally don't order duck that often at fine dining restaurants.
