Best Bone Marrow Dishes?

After having some really delicious bone marrow dishes at a few places, I've become obsessed. I've had it at the following places:

Bluestem Brasserie
Haven
Zare at Fly Trap

On my list to try:

Marlowe
Wayfare Tavern

Any other places I should check out?

I'm a huge fan of bone marrow as well, having had the first taste at Blue Ribbon in NY. I like the bone marrow at Alembic and Locanda. Also, they have a bone marrow pizza at Flour & Water, but I haven't had it...yet!

Some other places that I've had it at:
State Bird Provisions - salad with bone marrow dressing - not a huge fan, but interesting concept
Beast & The Hare - too simple

I've had it at both Marlowe and Wayfare and I prefer Wayfare over Marlowe.

Cafe Rouge, Berkeley, has them on the menu with the appetizers or sides.
Bar ribs 6.
Bar meatballs 6.
Roasted beef marrow 8.

RN74 has a fantastic stack of long marrow bones cut lengthwise. Completely hedonistic and delicious.

I enjoyed the version at Chez Papa on Portrero Hill SF
it is available lunch and dinner....I also loved the lamb daube, the semolina with cheeze, the moules, and frites...I'm drowning in my own saliva, I'd better stop here....Grand Marnier Pannacotta

I agree. The bone marrow was one of my favorites from a very nice meal there.

Of the ones you've been to, which one was your favorite, and are they all served lengthwise like a bone boat? (I once had it served vertically, like a bone volcano, and found it awful)

I've never had them bone volcano style. That way looks a bit difficult.

The marrow at Zare was my favorite. The marrow itself tasted the best and it was served with a bergamot preserve that was amazingly delicious and perfect with the marrow.

Vertical is traditional. When done that way, they should be served with a special marrow spoon.

Bix has always been my favorite place for marrow... That, and their tartare!
