For those of you who like Momofuku Milk Bar...

Why?

I finally tried it this week (W 56th st location)
Crack Pie--very sweet and buttery, like pecan pie without the pecans.
Cornflake-marshmallow, peanut butter, and compost cookies--all extremely buttery and very, very sweet.

These weren't awful, mind you, but not really what I expected. I don't see the addictiveness of the Crack Pie at all, and if the cookies weren't so buttery to the point of being greasy, they probably would be excellent.

Just wondering, thanks.

Saw 2 of those threads that you mentioned, but they are from 2009-2010. Hoping for a more recent viewpoint. Thanks.

        Slightly more recent review:

IMO not much has changed. The products are still very sweet and very buttery. I find the soft serve unfinishable by 1 person, it's better with 2 people.

The slightly less sweet items are usually the grasshopper pie, the chocolate-chocolate cookie, the corn cookie, the cake balls (sometimes -- depends on the individual flavor). Newer complaints are maybe focused around items not seeming fresh because they are individually packaged and driven in from Brooklyn. I've never noticed a real difference.

I guess that this is really not my kind of place. I can easily knock back 2 cannoli and double servings of Junior's cheesecake, but I could not finish one of these cookies.
I thought about having one of his pork buns, but after trying the crack pie, I made a beeline for Chinatown instead.

Going to stick with Rocco's and De Robertis from now on :) Thanks for your input, it's always appreciated.
