A big yes to Marche Moderne and Mozza. Add Charlie Palmer to the list, they have an excellent lunch and Thasos Greek Island Grille is terrific (very casual), but it can be crowded for lunch Forget Ortica, it's painfully mediocre.

Ortica does excellent proper Neapolitan pizza and they also do excellent fresh housemade pastas.

Those that "get" Neapolitan pizza or those that would like a taste of Neapolitan style pizza should go to Ortica. Those that think pizza should only have a crispy crust should stick with Mozza.

I personally prefer Neapolitan style pizzas over the Mozzarella style pizzas.

Not great but worth mentioning, Umami Burger just opened in Costa Mesa.

Have you been to Ramos House in San Juan? I prefer the lunches during the week to the 2 course weekend brunch. Was just there a couple weeks ago and it was wonderful- had a fried chicken salad with buttermilk dressing and waffle toast points and my brother enjoyed his crab cake salad. The greens tasted so fresh. Great ambience and history.

I like that place too. Yea. And I think the weekday breakfast/lunches is also a better deal than the mandatory, prixe-fixe brunches.

I really like the 3 course prix fixe deal at Charlie Palmer's at South Coast Plaza. Chech the web site to see what is on the menu.

If you have not been, Break of Dawn is also excellent.

Another big yes to Marche Moderne. They have a very well priced lunch prix fixe too.
