My Birthday in the Theater District

twochesters Apr 6, 2012 04:20 PM

A friend has graciously invited me to a Saturday matinee in 2 weeks at the St. James Theater on 44 St., as well as dinner or maybe lunch.
She was going to eat at Osteria al Doge, and a friend of hers told her about Da Rosina, which has prix fixe meals. My friend told me to look at those and let her know what I think.
A quick perusal seemed to indicate that Osteria al Doge was better, but I would love to hear from those who know, also what to order and what to avoid.
If there are better choices for similar prices, that would be great to know, too.
I very much appreciate her offer and don't want to get picky -- just looking for some info.
Thanks to all!

I had a delicious birthday dinner before theater a couple weeks ago at DB bistro.

Thank you, mahler5. I agree. I took my brother to a wonderful birthday dinner at db last year based on CH suggestions.
The only thing is, I think it is more expensive than the ones my friend has mentioned.

It looks like I am being offered a pre-theater lunch on a Saturday at either Angus McIndoe or at Da Rosina.
