Dinner in Virginia near I 95

We're driving from Vermont to Kiawah, S.C. and hope to be near Richmond, VA by dinnertime...Looking for casual but Chowworthy dinner...nothing ethnic, one of our party is a picky eater.

Really nice residential area is a break from the interstate.

stronghill (while not the best restaurant in richmond) is a good choice because it is easy to get to off the highway - and back on. and the food is nice as is the decor.

others are good but strike me as hard to get to, park, etc if you're on the road.
Are you staying in richmond or continuing from there - because that'd totally change options!

Yep. One of the staff there who's now at pasture, told me it was without any forewarning on Easter.

I thought Julep's was jacket required? However pretty sure their new sister restaurant , Mint, is casual . I've not tried it yet, however; but I expect it is very good.

I have heard mixed reviews on Mint. It seems they are still working out some of the kinks. One person had a great meal, another the worst meal of his life.
