Beautiful/scenic restaurant for post wedding dinner in Manhattan in May ?
We ar from Europe and are getting married in Central Park in the middle of May. Afterwards we are planning to go to the Boathouse for some drinks but are struggling to find somewhere for dinner.
Originally, we had choosen to have dinner in the Boatshouse - but did not get a table on that day - and our second choice was the River Cafe, but the Terrace room was reserved and they did not accept our group size in their main restaurant.
For us it´s less about the best food in town but more about a beautiful/scenic restaurant like the Boatshouse or the River Cafe, with a view or an environment that let us and our friends/family feel that we are in NYC.
We are 14 people and would prefer the kind of food they serve in the Boatshouse or River Cafe (American). Does anyone have suggestions ?
A possibility would be the Bryant Park Grill. It's behind the New York Public Library (Fifth Avenue and 42nd Street) overlooking Bryant Park. Not a favorite of Chowhounders for food, but meets your requirements for view, and cuisine. And it's a big place that should have no trouble with your group size.
There's also The Top of the Tower in the Beekman Hotel. But it must have been more than 10 years since I've been there -- maybe someone else has?
