Looking for an UES bar to host a small party

I'm going to be hosting a small get together on the upper east side.

It's a birthday party of about 20-30 people and it's a surprise.

I don't live in the city so i'm at a loss.

My wish list:
Laid back (more bar/lounge, than club)
Private space we may be able to reserve
Upper East Side

Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

  1. More details needed........

What's your budget? Food and drink, plus tax and tip. You're looking to offer guests a full dinner and drinks?

When would this be? What's the age group?

Here's where I expect it to be difficult..
The age group is varied, but mainly 30ish.
I'm not looking to do food, ideally i'd just like to reserve the space and then have people pay for their own drinks. I'm not even sure if that even exists as an option.
The goal is to try and keep my costs down. Maybe some apps??

The only thing that comes to mind is Session73. They'll let you reserve the space and do a cash bar. They can also provide apps.

    2. Phoenix Park is a pub-type place on 67th between 2nd & 3rd. It's definitely laid back and casual, the food's decent, and inexpensive for the area. I've been there for drinks & snacks, and I also attended a party in their back garden (which would be a good place to keep everyone, pre-surprise). I wouldn't send anyone there for an exquisite experience, but you could certainly do worse.

        1. You can rent out Trinity Pub for your party. It fits your need.
