Lively friday night dinner with married friends from out of town wanting a night on the town

we will be having dinner on the later side around 9:30 after seeing daniel tosh at radio city and would prefer something downtown on the west side so we can go out in the area (probably west village) for cocktails after...we dont really have any cuisine restrictions or budget but a place that takes reservations is really ideal (i was thinking redfarm/tertulia or frankies 570 but none of them take reservations)

thanks in advance!

  1. Hmm, Google tells me that the show is about a week from now, next Friday?

You might want to try Fedora which only takes reservations on the day of or the newly opened Perla, which I'm told only accepts reservations for 4 or more.

Looking through OpenTable for 4 people on Friday, the 13th, I see availability around 9:30 at:
    Fatty Cue
    Kin Shop

BTW, Whitehall, Fatty Cue, and Dell'anima all actually have pretty good cocktails as well, which may influence your decision.

    1. This close to the date most of the hot spots are going to be booked solid, especially for a Friday night during prime hours.

Do a search of for openings for four people around that time. Currently I see open tables listed for 9:30 - 10:00 for:

      Empellon Taqueria
      Fatty 'Cue
      Blue Hill
      Kin Shop

...and if you're williing to grab some cocktails elsewhere and dine a bit later, Minetta Tavern has an opening at 11:00.

Venture out of the West Village (but staying downtown) and the options open up considerably:

Del Posto (if you wanna go fancy)
      Morimoto (always fun)
      Marc Forgione
      Empellon Cocina

etc, etc, etc... lots of stuff coming up.
