Looking for a special chef for a special birthday. Planning an elegant dinner party and am looking for an exceptional chef for 10 foodies. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

You might also consider Stefan Richter (former Top Chef competitor) who is currently at LA Farm.

Or Walter Manzke, but he's been pretty busy.

I was going to mention him - but he's been working at Milo & Olive.

But you can pretty much get anyone who doesn't have a cooking dynasty (Puck and Splichal), but other'n that - almost anyone can be a hired gun. And most restaurants do "catering". If you want the actual chef to be there - they can do it - but it isn't always necessary.

Christophe Eme, late of Ortolan, would be an excellent choice if he is still doing catering. You can contact him through Twitter, LinkedIn or Facebook, among others.

The best chefs in town will do this. Off the top of my head - I know Josiah Citrin and Alain Giraud do this. A lot of chefs who are in between restaurants will likely do it too. Contact Citrin or Giraud thru their restaurants.

Is that along the lines of what you were thinking?
