Hardee's vs. Carl's Jr.

For some bizarre reason I have a craving for a Carl's Jr. burger.

We have Hardee's here. From the late 70's through the early 80's a lot of Hardee's franchises started in little (pop. < 3,000) towns here in Georgia. Seems the great majority have closed, a few are open in better locations.

  1. So.......are you asking if they're the same??

Since no one has bitten, I will. I've read that Carl's Jr. is better but for a large chain burger, Hardee's is above par I'd say.

Only one way to find out if you like it.

They are the same company. Hardee's on the East coast, Carl's Jr. on the West coast.

Carl's Jr. essentially bought out Hardee's in the late 80's. They started converting a few stores in the Midwest (where I lived at the time), but that failed badly and they went back to being Hardee's. A lot of Hardee's menu has evolved into being like Carl's Jr. (the promotional burgers are identical), but they've kept a little bit of their Hardeesness - especially the breakfast menu.

In essence, the burgers are identical now.

    2. Both used Paris Hilton for what appeared to be identical ads introducing some burger several years ago.

      1. Hardees is hands down my favorite FF breakfast. Breaded pork chop on a biscuit with sausage gravy. Solid representation of all the really important food groups I think.

        1. I used to live in Georgia and still get cravings for Hardee's burgers and Checker's fries (but not the other way around).
