GOING TO FORT MYERS NEXT WEEK

We are big fans of Derek's, which is in a gentrifying neighborhood in downtown Sarasota. Is there anything like Derek's in Fort Myers?

In a word, No. But you might like Yabo which is not in a gentrifying neighborhood but is excellent, none the less. There is also Cristof's, which I have written about here. It is in an old cracker style house in a residential area near the river. The River District is nice downtown but there are no first rate innovative restaurants there. Some like Yano and they do try. That might be fun for you.
