Latin(o) Easter Bread?

Some years ago -- maybe 15 years ago -- I stopped into a small bakery on Roosevelt Ave a few steps from a 7 train stop on a Sunday morning around Easter. They had a special seasonal bread that I don't remember the name of. I went back several times at other times of the year and never saw it again. It was sweet and didn't have any cheese in it.

Anyone have any idea what bread this might have been -- and which bakery it might have been in?

  1. I forgot to mention that the bread wasn't a loaf of bread. It was fist-sized, what Americans call a "roll."
