Foodie Friend in NYC Recommends Charleston Grill. Thoughts?
My husband and I will be in Charleston next week Sunday - Wednesday. (We already have reservations at McCrady's). I trust our pal when it comes to food and don't want to pass up a great experience, but I just looked at Charleston Grill menu and it looked a bit, well, limited and serious. I would love to know if anyone has visited there recently. Thanks!

I have NOT been since Bob Waggoner left. No real reason except that there are SO many places it's always hard to choose. Like danna said in another post, it's hard to go wrong in Charleston these days.
McCrady's is great. My current favorites are FIG, Anson, High Cotton and a new addition, The Grocery at Upper King and Cannon. Wow.
It's "Eat Local" month here. The Lowcountry Local FIrst (lowcountrylocalfirst.org) is sponsoring the event. Go to their website, or the one for Charleston City paper for details on some special events.

re: susany
I haven't been to Charleston Grill in a long time....maybe 10 years. It was good but not as good as other places. The WSJ wine couple (former, that is) were big fans back in the day. I wouldn't steer you away, but I would encourage you to take a hard look at Sue's list. I'm not sure you can assume Littleman has been there recently, you would need to hear it from him.
