New Vietnamese in Lauderdale Lakes
Last week I noticed the sign for Pho Binh had been removed, and there was a new banner hanging next to it, so I went over to investigate. The new Vietnamese place that opened in its place is called Noodle House, and they've also expanded into the storefront next door.
I picked up a menu, but haven't had a chance to try the food yet, hope to check it out next week. The restaurant is located at 4461 N. State Road 7 Lauderdale Lakes, 33319, one block north of Silver Pond.
I managed to try Noodle House for lunch last week. The food was solid, compared well with Pho Hua, which is my usual lunchtime spot.
The server brought out a basket of complimentary banh phong tom (prawn crisps) when we were seated. They didn't explain what they were made of (though I already knew,) but I wonder if these would be a problem for people with shellfish allergies?
The bun was very good, and the fresh herbs included rau ram, which I haven't encountered at any of the other local spots. The pho broth was very flavorful, and the pho dac biet contained more beef than noodles, though some cuts of beef weren't as lean as those served elsewhere.
The owners obviously poured some money into renovating the space, it's certainly the cleanest Vietnamese restaurant in the area. I'm looking forward to going back to try some of the other entrees.
SFFN - you didn't miss anything at Pho Binh, it was pretty dismal.
