Quintessential Cape May - 2012

Hey folks,

I'm headed to Cape May for the first time the first week of May. I'll be there for 48 hours. I will have two small children in tow, so "quintessential" will have to exclude all fine dining options. I need to know what I can't miss and avoid tourist traps. Thanks much.

I liked the Mad Batter. I had breakfast and lunch there a long time ago, but I would take my kids there. http://www.madbatter.com/ IMHO, all of Cape May is a tourist trap. But, I think the houses purty and the beach is nice.

+1 on the Mad Batter. Pretty good food, and some healthy options as well.

        Also agree on Mad Batter.

        Other possibilities:

        Market Depot Cafe. for lunch

Dry Dock for ice cream(if they are open for the season).

        Hot Dog Tommys

If they like pancakes Dock Mikes in West Cape May is usually less crowded than Uncle Bills

Finallly, Sunset Beach to let them look for Cape May Diamonds.
