BLT Prime or Primehouse?

Staying near gramercy, who has the better food and is one more formal than the other (dress code)?

I really like BLT Prime, much more than Primehouse. I think Primehouse is technically more "formal", but in my opinion the dining room has a weird vibe, something with the lighting maybe. Also the service is not as good at Primehouse. BLT Prime is dressy casual with a fun room and pretty great food (delish sides, and the popovers are amazing).

The popover with the liverspread is awesome. Prevents you from eating all your steak.

Does the "staying at Gramercy" totally affect your choice? I think it is worth a short taxi ride to a better place than BLT or Primehouse. If it is between those two, Primehouse has, in my opinion much better steak. Taxi ride to Wolfgang, Striphouse, or several others would be worth the + or - 20 bucks

Agreed. Neither are in my top 15 for steak.

You could walk to Wolfganags if you are staying in Gramercy.

More formal I would say is Primehouse if for no other reason than the dinnig room is much bigger and not as dark. Dress code is the same as most other steak houses in the city. For food I like the steaks at Primehouse more and the sides at BLT more. Not much help but if you can describe who you are going with and what you like the atmosphere might be the deciding factor.
