Bug in Suggested Threads Feed

Liking the smaller font, blue color making it more clear that these are links, but something has gone wrong with the choice of threads that feed in. On a Phoenix board thread, the threads displayed as
"Phoenix Board discussions" are from many other boards and not related to the regional board:

  1. Another example for a topic on the SF Bay Area board, titled "Cafe Rouge grilled squid",

The suggested threads, but for the last one, are NOT "San Francisco Bay Area Board discussions", and have little connection to the topic at hand. I doubt that they'll encourage more click-throughs.

        1. And today, the smaller blue-colored font has disappeared, returning to the black font. Also noticed that this feature appears on mobile view on my iPhone, whereas in the past it only appeared at random and mostly not.

          1. re: Melanie Wong

Everything's in blue for me today. Most threads I've looked at are showing appropriate suggestions (though not this one!).

            1. re: Melanie Wong

black old sized font for me too.

and yes, weird choices of threads to link.

            2. Three issues pointed out, so three responses for you:

              1) The off-board recommendations are definitely incorrect. We should have that cleaned up relatively soon.

              2) The appearance of those recommendations (such as font) is being tweaked intentionally at the moment, so that change is fortunately unrelated to the above issue.

              3) Is the fact that recommendations are consistently appearing on the iPhone a problem, or was that noted as a silver lining?

              1. re: Engineering

Could you hide them until they're fixed? It's really distracting to see an enticing thread you thought you might have missed only to realize it's for a completely different part of the globe.

                  Thank you.

                  3) A good thing. I like this feature and am happy that it is showing up on mobile view now.

                  1. re: Engineering

In the meantime, the regional boards like Minneapolis St-Paul are getting thread replies that read like non-sequiturs and add nothing to the conversation. Shall we continue to report them so that the discussion maintains some kind of value?

                    1. re: KTFoley

If people are posting random things on the wrong boards, please do report them, and just leave a note that that's the problem. We'll take care of them.

"1) The off-board recommendations are definitely incorrect. We should have that cleaned up relatively soon."

I hope so. On the Greater Boston Area board it's getting worse, not better.

                      1. re: Engineering

                        3. is a good thing, as far as i'm concerned. provided, of course, that they go back to being related threads
