  1. I would sift together dry ingredients. Cream butter and sugar, add eggs, then vanilla. Add dry ingredients, barely incorporating. Fold in nuts and chocolate.

But the milk -- I'm very suspicious of the milk. It's an unusual addition and the quantity seems quite high. If you trust this is correct, I would alternate adding the milk and flour (f,m,f,m,f) mixing until barely incorporated before next addition.

Did you make this and get a poor result, or are you just unclear on the directions? If it didn't work out, I would zero in on that milk. At most, I think a couple tablespoons might be needed, but I'm no biscotti expert. If it is 2T, you obviously wouldn't need to alternate it with the flour.

    1. What's wrong with it?

      1. classylady, I'm going to suggest this recipe. Close to the one you posted but closer to what I believe you are looking for. You can use or combine just about any chopped nut.

I was very suspious with the recipe. Rather than waste the nuts and chips I did another recip[e similar to mandelbrot and in addition to the chopped almond I added the chocolate cbips and all was saved.
Thank you all for your help..
