Birthday Dinner- Need fun ideas

I went to a birthday dinner at MPD last night. At a certain point everyone started getting up on their tables and dancing.

I'm looking to have a birthday dinner and want something like this. Does anyone know of other places with a similar experience?

  1. I'm sure that happens at such Shit Shows as Lavo and Villa Pacri, maybe even STK. Son Cubano in its new West Chelsea location.

Food will be overpriced and crappy, if that's ok with you. Sometimes a fun night out isn't about the food I guess.

How was the food at MPD? I've never been and never heard any mention of it for its food.

thanks! Great suggestions. The food was mediocre- nothing much to say. I would definitely go back for the fun atmosphere.

I remember that article. My first thought was the douche-tastic Bagatelle, which is now Beau Marchais. OF COURSE they have a brunch:

"Beau Brunch: This elegant and lively eatery is home to the globally popular “Le Grand Brunch”. Every Saturday and Sunday afternoon, guests are transported to the French Riviera to experience a mid-day retreat unlike any other. Revelers indulge in the finest champagne while dancing the afternoon away to Saint Tropez beats. "

(DID THE D.J. PLAY “WELCOME TO ST.-TROPEZ”? Obviously.)

      2. NYCfoodie1234, At what point did people start dancing? This sounds like a place I would like to try for a birthday dinner.
