We are traveling to NOLA to see the Lion King on SUNDAY -- five adults and three kids. Where should we eat dinner that is near the theatre and open on Sunday. I am hoping to avoid the Quarter as it most likely be crowded with Final Four Fans. Show is at 6:30 pm -- so it will be an early dinner. Thanks.

Where are you coming in from? If from Metairie, I'd suggest Mandina's a bit further up Canal (no problem parking) and then get early to the theater area to park and go inside. Tell us more about your geography and expectations so we can get creative for you.

We are just coming from Jackson, MS. But have relatives in tow from Tennessee who have never been to New Orleans. So a true "New Orleans" experience -- good food, a little (or a lot) colorful in ambience. Practically, it needs to be uncomplicated as we will have two cars of people trying to park etc. Also, a great place for roast beef po-boy on Monday at lunch with same considerations. Thanks so ugh for wanting to help.

Mandina's is a good choice. Get your po boy's at Parkway. Enjoy your visit.

Mandina's is really nice. You would probably like Liuzza's too. There are two of em. Both are good. Rue 127 is a new restaurant in that area getting some good publicity.

          Liuzza's by the Tracks @ 1518 North Lopez Street, New Orleans, LA 504 - 218 - 7888.

          Liuzza's Restaurant and Bar @ 3636 Bienville Street, New Orleans, LA. 504 - 482 - 9120.

We went to Mandina's -- it was great! We were cutting it close to get to the show-- but our waiter took good care of us! we made it just in time. I had Shrimp Creole and Peas. Yum. . . . tried to go to Camellia Grill but the wait was just soooo long. Thanks for asking - -thanks for your help.
