First trip to Hong Kong & Phuket, Thailand

Hey all, we're taking our first trip to Hong Kong & Phuket in a few months, and was hoping for some tips on where to eat. We're looking for some good, authentic places that aren't too touristy. We appreciate the help! Thanks!

    Welcome to Chowhound!!
First off, a bit of friendly advise!! Do some 'initial' research and homework first before launching an inquiry. And try not to be too generalized! This topic had been covered many a times on this board!!
Regarding Hong Kong eat. Here is the latest and best discussion. Lots of great inputs and ideas!

I think that some sticky posts would be good, where there is a continually updated list of best restaurants in "add city here" for "add food and kitchen style here". When I started on this board I also found it very hard to find compact information through the search engine.

jenl0202...I've been trying to find some info on Phuket as well but compared to Singapore, HK etc there's definitely less information out there. http://chowhound.chow.com/topics/687182

The problem with Phuket is that it is a certified tourist spot.

All I can suggest would be to asked the help around you accommodation, r simply wander around and look for a batch of locals chowing down.
