Where to buy plain steamed buns?

The ones you might use with peking duck but, in my case, I will fill with pork belly. I was in Oakland Chinatown this weekend and the ones at Delicious and Yuen Hop are too big (and look dubiously heavy). Will travel to SF if necessary.

I've seen the plain folded buns (peking duck style) in the refrigerated case next to the noodles at 99 Ranch.

I made pork belly buns a while ago and I think I got my frozen buns from orient market in oakland chinatown.

Are you looking for fresh ones, or will frozen ones work?

Either as long as you think they are good. Just want to avoid having to make them.

99Ranch should have some frozen ones. Or if you do not want to make them then buy the ready made and slice and split them into the size you want. Napolean has steam buns too.

Hey, thanks. Napoleon is fave bakery but the lines were long that day so I didn't look.

Does anyone else feel like their CH search function works poorly? I never seem to get a hit for what I want but others find it easily. Or maybe I'm doing it wrong. . .

I remember years ago my Chinese friends used Bridgeford Bread to make their own...
