Lone diner at Frontera or Purple Pig?

Arriving Friday afternoon for a conference and planning on just eating alone Friday night. I really want to go to the Purple Pig and Frontera,

Is there a bar at Frontera where I could maybe get a seat without too long of a wait? Or would I have a better chance at Purple Pig? (Heck, wondering if I could do both!)

Was also thinking about trying Purple Pig on Monday, but would likely have a group of 3 or 4. Don't know how feasible that would be, though. Don't mind waiting, but also have reservations at Maude's that night, so could just skip the worry altogether.

Have reservations at Publican on Sunday and GT Oyster on Saturday.

Any suggestions for later-evening cocktails/beers Sat and Sun? Not looking for a scene, just a place to get a good drink around the magnificent mile area that won't be slammed with people, although I realize that may be asking too much.

Thanks.

The bar at Frontera is really the bar for both Frontera and Topolobampo. You can order dishes from both at the bar.

Purple Pig has a bar, too, but I don't think it is very large. Maybe a dozen seats or so.

For cocktails after dinner, try Sable.

Thanks, Kathryn. I'll probably hit Frontera Friday and try to hit Purple Pig on Monday.

You can order drinks while waiting at the purple pig. Friday night in fall I had to wait 3 hours to get a seat but it was worth the wait! yum!
