Keith Gilabert: Urasawa Is A Little Bit Of Heaven On Earth!

Keith Gilabert Mar 28, 2012 08:53 AM

I went to Urasawa as a guest of a close family friend. I have heard of this place mostly because of it’s uber-expensive meals…it costs $500.00 a person on average.

A hostess greets you and addresses you by your name and seats you along a 10 seat sushi bar. It's a really small and simple restaurant located on the second floor of Rodeo Dr.

I can honestly say that you will not experience the full meaning of sashimi if you haven't tried Urasawa yet. Every single bite literally melts into your mouth. This place is Impeccable!! I don't know what exactly was ordered, but there were about 25 courses of servings. But every bite was so worth the money! (I think enjoyed it the most since I was eating free…)

This is one of the places where I don't mind spending thousands of dollars. Mr. Urasawa is a gifted Chef.

He said he was a "guest of a close family friend."

I think he knocked off and impersonated a guest. ;-)
