HELP!!!!! Desparately in need of 'Saturday Lunch' recommendation!!

  • 9

Dear fellow NYC chowhounders....etc! HELP!!!!!

Totally messed up my 'eating itinerary' for my late April visit to NYC!! :(

Reason?!! I only found out both EMP and Marea do not do Saturday lunches! As such, I have to move them to dinner spots, leaving one Saturday lunch without a venue!! I checked out the brunch menu for ABC kitchen and was not that impressed!

Any Michelin star establishment ( or non-star ) serving a great ' SATURDAY' lunch you can recommend?!

So far, my secured list include Casa Mono, Marea, EMP and Tori Shin.

Thanks in advance!!!

  1. I literally just put up a review for The NoMad. It has some dishes from the EMP menu and is so new I don't think you would have a problem getting a reservation there for lunch in April.

Otherwise I suggest checking out the 3 course prix fix at Toqueville. It's wonderful food in serene, upscale atmosphere. It really can't be beat for a Saturdary lunch. Enjoy!

Took the words right out of my mouth.

Also, I'd add The Modern Bar Room.

Thank you both so very much!!!!
Since I'll be dining at EMP, I think I'll give NoMad a pass this time and go with The Modern Bar Room instead!! Love Alsatian food!!

For The Modern Bar Room, some of my favorite dishes are Alsatian Country Soup, Roasted Duck Breast, Spice-Dusted Squab, Beignets, and Coffee Caramel Dome (*not* the pistachio dome, I didn't like the pistachio version of this dessert).

    2. I highly recommend Bouley for Saturday lunch. Bouley has long been a favorite restaurant for dinner, and while I've not had lunch at Bouley, uhockey posted a wonderful report about his Saturday lunch at Bouley last year. The price is now $55 for a multi-course tasting menu with choices for each course.

        Second Bouley. Fantastic lunch.
        Try Maialino as well.

      2. All great recs - maybe add Daniel to the list as well? Or Del Posto.

Daniel and Del Posto are not open for Saturday lunch.

        2. Jean Georges and La Grenouille are also open for lunch on Saturday.
