Veggie-friendly nice-ish place for a celebration in SF?

dancingyel Mar 27, 2012 12:22 PM

My partner and I are going to have a nice celebratory dinner with our two families in a few months (so there's plenty of time to make reservations!) and I was wondering if people had any recs. He's vegetarian, but no one else is, so we need a place that's veggie-friendly. We'll have 10 adults, a 12-year-old, and a 7-year-old, so a semi-private space would probably be best. We're thinking in the $40-$65 range before wine, etc, though we've looked at La Folie and Fleur de Lys, which are both outside our budget but seem so appealing! Right now, besides those 2, the things on our radar are Chapeau! and Aziza. Any other ideas? My family and I are pretty adventurous eaters, his a bit less so. We'd also like to stay within San Francisco.

Thanks so much!

http://www.sprucesf.com/ (read Private Dining) for Library or Shiraga Room.

go to Perbacco for great food - if noise is not a factor

nice space, lovely food, easy parking at Zaré at Fly Trap

otherwise, Chapeau! and Aziza will also be pleasing.

OP says that only 1 adult of the 10 (plus 2 children) is vegetarian, hence "veggie-friendly" for semi-private space.

Kokkari in SF. 6 of us including 2 vegetarians went this past weekend to Evvia, the sister restaurant in Palo Alto, and the vegetarians they loved their meal. They had the veg. soup special & the ravioli and of course the awesome spreads which the rest of us enjoyed too.
