Need to replace discontinued coffee

susans Mar 27, 2012 12:55 AM

Trader Joe's has discontinued our coffee, the fair trade, organic Sumatra. I'd like to find something similar that is available locally, preferably also organic and fair trade. I know I can find that online from folks like Green Mountain, but really don't want to pay shipping if that's avoidable.

Where are you located? Here in OC, Kean Coffee roasts Sumatra Lake Tawar beans.

I'm in Long Beach. We have been to Kean and like it, but it isn't really close to LB and I like to buy coffee weekly if possible for reasons I probably don't have to explain here.

Nothing to suggest here, but I'm sorry to hear that news. The Sumatra was probably the one Trader Joe's coffee that could legitimately rival the product from real coffee shops.

Costco carries Seattle Mountain organic Sumatra Mandheeling for around $20 for a 2.5 pound bag. It doesn't say fair trade on the bag, so it probably isn't, but perhaps it will do.

I've seen it (I think) at the Northridge store, but not around here in Signal Hill or Lakewood.
