Rangoon Restaurant Ottawa (Burmese) - anyone been?

Planning to go to Ottawa in a few weeks and wondering if Rangoon is worth a visit. I noticed that their tea leaf salad says it is made from marinated tea leaves and most Burmese restaurants will use the word fermented and not marinated. Also, I don't see it on the menu, but find it strange that they don't have balada (Burmese crispy pancake usually served with curry sauce for dipping). Please let me know if you've been here and if it is worth a visit or not.

  1. Perhaps this is too late, but I was just at Rangoon last week, and can't believe I hadn't been before!

    It was only a quick lunch, so I didn't get to try the tea leaf salad or a few of the other items that I would have liked to. But I did have a spring roll (good, if slightly greasy) and the mohingha fish noodle soup. Very mild (unless you gas it up with extra fish sauce and chile) but good, and very much the kind of thing I had at homes in Asia.

    1. We had take-out - Tea Lead Salad, Chicken Curry, Shrimp Curry and the spring rolls. All were good but the Tea Leaf Salad did not compare to the ones I tried at Mandalay (in San Francisco) and Mingalaba (in Burlingame near the SF airport).
