Kosher Turkeys

Can anyone tell me the lowest price they have seen for a kosher turkey (frozen or fresh) and where they have seen it?

I actually found one at Waldbaum's today for $2.49 a lb., plus, with that purchase (over $25) I got five lbs. of free matzoh!

At Stop & Shop, Empire frozen turkeys are $2.49 with the S&S Card this week. (I didn't see any on display, but when I asked at the Meat Dept. they brought out one for me.)

Aside from an Empire Kosher what other Kosher Turkeys are available here on Long Island ? Also does anyone know if Whole Foods still sells a free range turkey ? Thanks

I bought a Kosher Valley turkey from Whole Foods last year and have never seen so many feathers. I spent over an hour plucking that bird. Stick with Empire.

I don't recall having a problem with flavor. In fact, I had a frozen one in my freezer from last Passover and just cooked it Thanksgiving and it was perfect! Just looking for a cheaper price than $2.49. I wouldn't mind another brand, as long as it is kosher. I never heard of Kosher Valley, but I've purchased turkeys at Trader Joe's thanksgiving time which are good.

I don't know about the price, but Fairway sells Murray's poultry, and they are the only place you can get it kosher (or so they say). Cannot say 100% for sure that their whole turkeys are Murray's but their turkey breast was.

I have never had a problem with Empire. Flavor is great and the birds are always moist.
