Toronto Private Room

I am looking to hosts a family event for 15 people. We are celebrating a special occasion and would like to bring everyone together for a great night. I am having trouble deciding on a venue and was hoping to get some ideas from the board.

I understand that my top two choices so far are at different ends of the spectrum and hope that someone has experience at either or could recommend an alternative.

Canoe- cant beat the view but am not thrilled about the stuffier atmosphere. Although the food is good I am not sure that it is the best choice for family members that aren't accustom to fine dining. They may not feel as comfortable as others in that setting

Enoteca- the cheese room is a fun inviting atmosphere with great family style food. I think that everyone will enjoy themselves but it doesn't offer the same impact as a place like canoe.

If only I could have Enoteca's staff serve their food at Canoe! Any suggestions on places that will bridge this gap? I need space for 15.

Thanks!

Enoteca would be off your list, I think. It's only 8-12 as far as I recall!
Gusto 101 has a room, but I can't vouch for the food; I've yet to eat there for dinner.
You may also want to check out Globe Bistro on the Danforth. They have a room on the 2nd floor. Might be your best middle-ground?

Mistura might be a good option although not sure if the room can hold 15. I would give them a call. Excellent food, service and atmosphere.

The Cathedral Room at La Maquette (opposite St James Cathedral) may fit the bill. Holds up to about 20 but perfect for 12-15.
Food is serviceable (better if you can work closely with chef) and it's a lovely location.

I recently hosted a private dinner party for 16 at Eight Wine Bar at the Cosmopolitan hotel. Food and service were both very good. Very nice atmosphere, especially at the bar.
