Dinner with a good friend in highland area

I am meeting a friend soon for dinner. We have done punch. Looking for something else in this area. What would you recommend?

I'd add Ristorante Luci or Luci Ancora for some Italian.

I love Carmellos, but it can get quite crowded on the weekends.

Stay far, far way from Palumbo's.

Can you say more? Some of their stuff is actually pretty good. Love the salmon pizza.

On the high end, Joan's in the Park and Luci Ancora (but high end is relative compared to other options in Highland). Highland Grill is good for a change of pace from Punch. For burger fare, the Nook. Palumbo's Pizzeria also worth a shot (and not just for pizza). Just outside Highland, technically in Mac-Groveland, you could go to Scusi. Small plates better than the pizzas.

Scusi just had a change in chef.

What is that cafe on Cleveland and like Randolph? 128 or something? Is that any good?

Highland proper doesn't have a ton of choices, Mac Grove and Grand have more.

128 Cafe is at Cleveland and Laurel.

There's a Joan's in the Park thread bouncing around here. That might be a good option, too. It's on Snelling somewhere in that stretch between Ford Parkway and Randolph.

The Highland Grill is always pleasant and has good food.

Highland Grill is just like all the other Blue Plate restaurants.

I'd drive a few miles to Brasa on Grand. I especially love it on a nice night when the doors are all open.

How much do you want to spend and what sort of vibe are you going for? More casual or a little more upscale? And any specific cuisine?
