Corbin, KY?

We are staying two nights at the Cumberland Falls Resort in Corbin and need to know where to eat. Apparently NOT at the resort? I have chili buns at Crabtree's Root Beer Stand on our list, as well as the Harland Sanders Museum and Cafe. Any other must eats in the area? Price, atmosphere and food style are all open -- we just want straight-up good food.
Thanks in advance,
AmySue

I actually find the food at Dupont Lodge to be lovely and very regional.

Funny ...I was born and raised in the area but never heard it called Crabtrees....we call it the rootbeer stand...period...lol

We love the pizza and huge salad...oh and breadsticks at Pizza and Co

I have heard people enjoy Bubby's BBQ on that exit but I have not been home since it has been there so I havent been myself. My mother is a super picky , kinda negative person and she only had good things to say.

As far as the KFC Museum ...it is the worst KFC I have ever eat in...YUCK,,,the one down from my now house in South Carolina is a thousand times better.

The Depot on Main is decent

Basil's gets lots of local love

Oh and this is a very small town, that just started allowing alcohol in restaurants in the last few years.

I basically agree with you about KFC. You can argue about whether or not it's the worst but the simple fact is, it's KFC. You can get it anywhere.

Get on 75N and go to London. Eat at Weaver's Hot Dogs.

Don't miss out on the burgers either.

One caveat. The ownership has changed hands since we visited. Same family though. I understand, if anything they've maybe upped their game.

Since I went to high school with the fraction of the family that is running it now (and the cousin that ran it before) I will add that it is the same recipes and according to the hometown scuttlebutt it is much tastier (the before cousin had some personal issuses that bleed over into management )and ran like it was orginally ran back in the good old days!So i would say it is a must visit!

Thanks so much for the ideas! Will re-think the KFC thing -- it was only for historical reasons were were considering it in the first place. We will have plenty of time to try Bubby's, Depot, Basil, and Weaver's.
