Dessert in Western PA

Hi I’m in western pa (Sharon area) and looking for a place where they have good dessert. I’m craving chocolate cake but will go anywhere that has good dessert. I rather not go to a chain restaurant but will keep them in mind if anyone has any ideas please let me know. I’m even willing to go to Ohio as well.

Do you want a sit down restaurant or a bakery/take out place? Enrico's in the Strip District is hard to beat (no chocolate cake but excellent brownies if you need chocolate), Oakmont Bakery gets great reviews too.

In all honestly, hands down the best place I've ever been to in all of my travels is right here in Pgh, Food Glorious Food, in Highland Park.

There are a lot of Pittsburgh places that have pretty good dessert.

Some that I recall more vividly....

The dessert menus at HABITAT (downtown) and ELEVEN (strip district) offer about 6-7 items that are creative and a slight variation to the typical creme brulee or chocolate cake. At HABITAT, I had a really good raspberry and lemon panna cotta. Their desserts however run at about $8 to $9 a piece.

I also like Aladdins (in Squirrel Hill) for simpler desserts. No disrespect to the cheesecake factory, but I actually like Aladdin's cheesecakes better! I remember an oreo creme cake that was really good. Aladdins is cheaper than ELEVEN or HABITAT
