This new program under the Good Search family of charitable projects supports local charities under a dining out program. Register, dine in or out at a local spot and support your selected charity.

Has anyone used the program in their city yet?

there are 29 participating restaurants within 10 miles of me and 67 within 15 miles. Unfortunately, several are Burger Kings, but there are a few local, independent places I frequent (including my lunch time go to pizza place), so I'll definitely be signing up.

I came across this thread and was immediately intrigued. When eating out we can help those who are struggling to eat in.

I like the idea, but you are required to allow them to use you for marketing and have to enter credit card info and use only that cc at the establishments because they "track your spending". Ummm, I don't think so. I will continue to make my own donations to my chosen charities.

Thanks for sharing this gaffk. Read the terms of the program because you are disclosing a lot of information to the organization which can be used for marketing purposes.

Ooooh, thanks CWD. I hadn't read that yet . . . and the last thing I need is more marketing (I think my mailman is ready to cut me out of his route as it is ;)
