All Star Sandwich Bar expanding into pizza

All Star Pizza Bar is opening in the recently vacated space diagonally across the street from All Star Sandwich Bar. The menu offers a "house blend cheese" pizza for $13,95, with standard toppings (albeit with fancy sounding adjectives: sweet Italian fennel sausage, house made meatball, applewood smoked bacon, etc.) at $1 or $2 each. Specialty pizzas include:

-- atomic meatloaf pizza
-- buffalo duck confit pizza
-- chile relleno pizza
-- "dukes of hazard" pizza (girts, sausage, eggs, chiles)
-- romesco ratatouille pizza
-- "Ms. Piggy's fig" pizza (goat cheese, figs, proscioutto, arugula
-- the "red head" pizza (red bliss potatoes, shaved steak, bacon, onions, horseradish cream)

Sounds ambitious (maybe a little too much so?!?!). They are aiming to be open in mid-April, which presumably means sometime over the summer!

Are they going to have slices too?

A "tight selection" of slices will be available during lunch time, according to Chowder

Awwww, the loss of Aram's #2. Though I don't think I ever had a slice there.

From what I recall from 15 years ago, not a major loss but it was convenient and cheap when I lived in Inman Square. And if you want a refresher, there's still the other Aram's by the Cambridge court house (345 Cambridge St).

AKA Arams #1, which was there when I lived in east cambridge.

Lately I've been trying to remember the name of what I'm sure was an awful chinese takeout place that was on cambridge st and couldn't have been too many blocks from 3rd & Cambridge. I feel like the name was Yum Yum or something equally stupid.

The Chinese takeout place (Yun Yun Kitchen) has been replaced by a somewhat less awful Thai takeout place. Aram's #2 is still there and still not good. My guess is that no matter what, the new pizza place has to be an improvement.

Ahhh, that's the space. It was wisteria for a while recently. That's about the right distance, I'm sure that's what I'm remembering.
