Gift certificate for new college grad

sweetpotater Mar 23, 2012 01:54 PM

My cousin is graduating from college and moving to Phoenix in May to become a schoolteacher. I want to get him some restaurant gift certificates. He is a hip, Kosher (no meat or shellfish), adventurous guy. He doesn't need anything fancy—just delicious and fun. He doesn't know where he will be living, only that he will be working in a high-poverty neighorhood in Phoenix itself. The places I eat when I visit my parents in Scottsdale seem a little suburban for what I'm after. Suggestions?

I'm not qualified to give a good answer, but, there are quite a few Kosher options along N 7th St in central Phoenix:

Thanks for these. Also, he can eat at any restaurant with good fish or vegetarian options.

I figured. That's why I mentioned Green, which just happens to have a 7th St location. They have gift cards that can be purchased in any amount.

You probably can't go wrong with Pita Jungle, either. They have a big menu and many locations including downtown Phoenix and in Tempe on the light rail.

A couple of other options are Loving Hut and Persian Garden.
