Food and Fado

We are going to Lisbon in October and want to hear some fado. I have read different views on whether to go to a restaurant that also presents fado and eat dinner or not to do this but to go to a special fado club and maybe have a snack, but definitely not go to a restaurant with dinner.

What do others think? Where should we go?

Also, we will be visiting the Alentejo. Could we hear fado there?

Obrigada

Antonia

Fado and food do not mix...
And, no, you will not find Fado in the Alentejo. Their typical song is the "Cantar Alentejano" a very moving men's choir. There was a recent post about Fado in Lisbon on this board; You should be able to find it by using the search box (top right corner of this page)

      Monichique,

Thank you for the good advice. Do you recommend any places to hear Fado in Lisbon? I will also search the board.
