barcelona - lunch reservations?

have been combing the board for last minute suggestions but was wondering if lunch reservations were typical/expected at slightly more upscale places. was eyeing gresca and kaiku. thanks!

Yes, lunch reservations are expected but there should be free tables for walk-ins at Gresca and only weekdays at Kaiku. Weekend at Barceloneta where Kaiku is located at is packed. Gresca is small and if there is some big happening such as convention, electronic show, etc, might be a different story.

Reservations are pretty much essential for lunch at Gresca.
