Red Rooster tonight- what to get?

I keep hearing that the friend chicken is amazing, but just wondering if there are any other great items on the menu to order...?

Cool space and vibe. Great drinks. The Savoy (vodka, lemon, muddled grapes) is particularly tasty and refreshing. Go to hang out over drinks but skip the food.

cocktails. the peanuty one is great.

mac and cheese is almost like a rich cheesy soup, and is paired well with a nice salad.

everything else we tried was good, but only the cocktails were really great.

The fried chicken (called Fried Yard Bird) is quite good, as is the Berbere roasted Chicken. Would also vote for the Fried Maya shrimp, and whatever fish and grits combo they have going that day. They also have good crab cakes and a tasty appetizer called Jerk Bacon and Egg. Wouldn't describe the food as "amazing," but it is quite good and the atmosphere is great. What can occasionally be amazing are their modernized versions of classic cocktails.

The sweet potato donuts for dessert are a must-get unless you are allergic to sweet potatoes . . . or donuts.

The fried chicken is not "amazing," and while RR is a fun scene, the food is not special.
