They are now open for lunch, so I finally made it in to check it out. There are very mixed reviews online, and it seems that a lot of the negative experiences have to do with dinner time service (lack of it, and also aspects of "the crowd"), so take my review for what it is worth as it is only based upon my own lunch experience there. The crowd at lunchtime was mostly business people (I saw a lot of real estate types reviewing listings with clients, etc.).
Anyway, on to the food.....I had the bo luc lac. The beef was very tender, having a nice marinade on it. It was cooked perfectly, with the outside of each cube being nicely seared, and the inside still being juicy. The sauce was flavourful without being overly salty as sometimes is the case with this dish for me. The tomato rice had a nice rich flavour, and was cooked well. The cucumber, tomato, and lettuce were uneventful. I would have preferred some watercress to add a little bitterness. Overall this was a very respectable rendition.
I'm not a fan of the pseudo Earl's/Cactus Club vibe, but enjoyed the food.
