SARASOTA Isan Thai Restaurant

Has anyone tried this restaurant and if so, please comment.

Isan Thai is quite close to where we live and we wondered if it is worth trying... if there is anything unique about the Thai food this place serves ... is it different than most of the other Thai restaurants around or is it same old same old.

    Funny you should ask! Just went there last night after noticing this week that it was there. Give it a try, we enjoyed it. Nothing different food wise from other Thai restaurants, but boy has the decor changed from the previous restaurant! Nice to have a decent Thai restaurant close by.

        We have eaten twice at Isan within the last two weeks First time the satay was good and seafood soup was spicy and very good. Chicken entree was fine but nothing special. Second time we had to send back the satay because the chicken was stringy, plus it appeared to have been fried!! The soup was also a big disappointment. Like you, we went there with high hopes. We were told there are two different cooks so don't know if that is a good enough excuse. May give it another try after it settles down.

        We dined at Isan Thai this evening....food was DELICIOUS!!!!

        The crispy duck was perfect....ultra crisp skin and moist on the inside.

          Hey, thanks for the report back! Looking forward to going there... Love duck but I rarely get it because it seems like it a toughie for alot of restaurants, but it looks like this might be my place for duck! Yay!

            Oh, BTW to anyone thinking of going... They do have their menu online and you'll be pleasantly surprised to see that they are different than many of the rest! Check it out for yourself ;-)
