Grandfather Coming to Midtown

A friend's 95-year-old grandfather is coming to midtown, will be staying at the Yale Club. Fish or seafood is great, but nothing spicy (and please don't tempt him with beans....) It would be nice to have a relatively quiet, not-over-the-top place, close to 44 and Madison. Thanks for any suggestions!

What about Oceana? It's probably one of the best seafood restaurants in the city.

Thanks to everyone. Just spoke w/ his son, and I think we're going to have to stick very close by.

Fonda del Sol is directly across the street and fine enough dining.

Can he walk a block or so? If he is not mobile then he has to get in a cab either way, which opens the entire city.

That said, if you still want something very close, I suggest a simple grilled fish and sides at Kellari on 44th Street. Or even the menu at db bistro Moderne would offer options. A nice steak at Keens could work. But like the other suggestion of Palm West (which I do not recommend) it's a cab ride.

I would recommend taking the old timer to The Palm West on 50th Street. Perfection
