HELP! First date restaurant tonight in or near West Hollywood

Going on a first date tonight and was super excited to go to Artichoke's Heart on Melrose cause the food is amazing, it's dressy casual and unique. Sadly they are only open thurs-sat. Anyone know of a great dressy casual restaurant in or near west hollywood? Nothing super fancy...I don't want us to have to be too dressy or uncomfortable but also don't want TOO casual. Help! :-)

A little late to the thread but I would recomend Terroni or Cobras & Matadors.

thought i heard cobras and matadors closed recently... not a fan. think it was good at first then declined the last few times i was there. terroni is a good idea, btw!

C&M is indeed closed. Drove by yesterday and saw them doing work on whatever the next incarnation will be.

Unfortunately, the food is not that good at Craig's Dan Tana's is much better. Craig's is a really nice room but the food doesn't hold up. Eveleigh on Sunset would be a fun first date choice.

what about angelini osteria? it's not as stuffy as it may appear. i've had good experiences there and you are fine in jeans or you can dress up. There's also BLD on beverly.

Lucques has definitely not gone downhill. Also, be grateful that you couldn't go to Artichoke's Heart. Friends of ours were there last week and said the prices were insanely expensive, food just so-so, and service abominable

I had a horrible meal there. Emailed the manager, no response. Called and found the voicemail box full. After several days got through to a human being who said that they were a manager. He told me that he would investigate and get back to me. He never got back to me. Called back and the voicemail box was filled up again. Email again and never got a response. Go somewhere else.

I've told everyone I know, based on my experience (once was enough for us) that this place is mediocre, at best.

it was a legitimate question based on how many people know about the place, from reading or word-of-mouth, yet continue to go.

As I stated....once was enough for me and I relayed my experience(s) to all those I know, including close friends.
