advice needed--Mexican in DC

mlucich Mar 17, 2012 05:49 PM

can anyone give me some ideas of where to get good mexican food in DC? I have never had super authentic Mexican, so that isn't the main priority. Although, I would love to try anything authentic! I just need to know somewhere to get some good queso and tacos for a decent price. Any help would be appreciated!!

I don't understand 'for a decent price.' These are not exactly expensive items.

There is LOTS of info on this topic - search for "Mexican" above and you will find what you need.

I don't know what you are referring to as queso. If you want Mexican queso, most of the supermarkets sell a variety of Mexican cheeses. For my money, the best Mexican food in the District is at Oyamel. If you're getting tacos, it won't be expensive. There are other places that also do a good job, but I haven't been to any of them in a few years, so I can't vouch for them. The best Mexican food in the area is in Bladensburg/Riverdale, MD, down Route 1 in Virginia and at El Charrito Caminante in Arlington.

In DC, try Chinito's off Florida Avenue in NE.
