Bluefish Grill Flemington

The Bluefish Grill reopened in the Stangl Building on the corner of Mine St. I had lunch today and it was really good. Ordered PEI mussels in a Thai broth with grilled bread, delicious. I arrived at 11:45 and by Noon every table was taken. They are in the process of opening an outdoor dining area.

  1. I didn't know that Blue Fish Grill was moving (our last time there was last May), so thanks for the info, hunterdon22. Their fish and chips are fantastic! And they make a stellar Key Lime pie.

    1. Yes, the Blue Fish Grill has moved and now has the dubious distinction of occupying what may well be the ugliest building in Flemington. What a shame. However, I am glad to report that the food is indeed as good as ever. Try the tacos!

I couldn't agree more about that building. It looks like a miniature version of Eastern State Penitentiary. What were they thinking?

      2. I was there last week for lunch. The new space is huge improvement over the old, though around the same size. It's spare and modern; more of an upscale feel. The dining room is NOISY. Some sound absorbing panels on the ceiling would be appreciated.

The menu has also gone upscale. I had the curry salmon bowl ($16.50) and it was excellent. The bill for two was a rather spendy $40. The pieces of fish plus two sides that used to be $8-$11 are now $12-$16. In spite of this they're full. Quite a few parents with young kids, as before. So I guess their formula works.

The owners (husband & wife) are really nice, hard working people who care about their customers and the town. I wish them the best of luck in the new location.
